Matt Long and the Revenant Ones
New band alert! Matt Long and the Revenant Ones should definitely be on your ones to watch list. Matt Long has carved himself a reputation as a stellar front man of multi award-winning British blues-rock band Catfish. Alongside playing with Catfish, Matt is now also on the road with this new heavy rock band, Matt Long and the Revenant Ones, which allows Matt to flex his songwriting muscles focussing on rockier riffs and showcasing his impeccable guitar wizardry.
Their phenomenal energy on stage, Matt's powerful song-writing, Adam Pyke's dark underbelly basslines and Kev Hickman's outrageously hypnotic drum skills make this a band which stands out from the crowd in a genre full of talent. Kev is no stranger to the world stage, having performed regularly across three continents and supported acts such as Slash, Deep Purple, Joe Satriani and The Darkness.
With their first European tour successfully completed January 2020 and festival bookings coming in, this band is already causing a buzz both in the UK and abroad. Their debut album ‘The Other Side’ was due to be released this summer but has been put back until they are able to tour again.
Here is the first completed track from the forthcoming album which will be released as soon as they are able to get out and tour with full capacity indoor gigs again, hopefully early in the new year. Why not treat yourself to a pre-gig meal deal in the Clubhouse? Just add a meal deal to your basket here. Tickets are limited to 50 so you'd better be quick. To ensure your's and our staff's safety we will send out event guidelines closer to the event. Please get in email us at contact@therecrooms.com should you have any questions prior to this. -

Rec Rooms Jazz and Blues - Diz Watson and The Doorman
As part of The REC Rooms Jazz and blues sessions we're excited to welcome Diz Watson and The Doorman. Diz Watson, singer, piano player and entertainer, presents his exuberant mix of rhythm and blues and boogie woogie, often in the New Orleans style, encompassing the music of Fats Domino, Professor Longhair, Champion Jack Dupree, and all the way down the line to Cousin Joe Pleasant, blending it with his own quirky and often amusing originals. Diz recorded the classic ‘Bluecoat Man’ for Ace Records in London in 1981 with his band Diz and the Doormen, featuring legendary saxophonists Lee Allen, Roger Lewis and Walter Kimble who were with Fats Domino at the time. ‘Rhumbalero’ was cut in 1984 and ‘Tonky Honk’ with Big Jay McNeely in 1995, both on Ace Records. Over the years, Diz made appearances and worked with the likes of Chas n Dave, Clarence ‘Frogman’ Henry, Alexi Korner, Dr John and opened for the Stones, at the request of Ian Stewart, at the start of their l982 world tour in London. He also made a big impact on younger players such as Ben Waters and Henri Herbert, all successful in their own right. Charlie Hart (producer of Bluecoat Man) comments – “Diz is one of a kind, the coolest of Yorkshiremen, his influences are steeped in Blues and Boogie Woogie, and he is a connoisseur of the exotic, as his latest release ‘Diz-Connected’ certainly demonstrates.” As someone once said about his gig – “Be there or be somewhere else, especially if you need proof that the spirit of Professor Longhair lives on.” - - - - - - - - Quote : “Diz rocks the House every time – he is a bona fide British Blues Legend.” Errol Linton – Blues Man of the Year – (Boisdale).Tickets are £15 per ticket, bought in tables of 2, 4 or 6 we have a limited capacity at this performance, so avoid disappointment and book your table now.
